What is Cultural Awareness Training? 

The In Culture Tours Cultural Awareness Training is a transformative journey that delves deep into building your understanding of the Noongar people, their cultural customs and way of life here on Whadjuk Country. 


What is Cultural Safety Training? 

The Cultural Safety Training teaches participants how to interact with Indigenous people respectfully, engage in topics and learn about triggers and appropriate ways to engage with Aboriginal and Toris-Strait Island people. Learn about the Aboriginal flag and Information about when to acknowledge Country and the importance of why only the Indigenous people can facilitate Welcomes.

The Cultural Safety Training builds on prior knowledge and provides participants with a greater understanding of Indigenous Culture. 


Is this for me?

In Culture Tours recommends booking your group in on a tour to first have an initial on-Country experience.  The Cultural Awareness Training session provides a great introduction to understanding the meaning of Culture. This helps with breaking the ice and can assist with prompting questions. The Cultural Safey Training session

In the Cultural Safety Training session participants will explore the ongoing consequences of Australian history for First Nations peoples, Cultural norms and you will learn about the aspects of Aboriginal Cultural that can't be found on Google. You will complete this session with a newfound appreciation and understanding of Culture and will be left saying 'why weren't we taught this in school.' 


Location: 

If your group would like to participate in a tour prior, outdoor spaces are available to continue into the Cultural Awareness aspect to the day.
